Who we are
HA Interior Design (Pty) Ltd is an interior design and project management studio based in Sandton, Johannesburg. In this notice, "we" and "us" mean HA Interior Design.
We are responsible for the personal information you share with us, and we handle it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our Information Officer is Shanna Mackay.

What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and to deliver your project.

From our discovery form: your name, email address, phone number, project location, project type, investment range, whether an architect or contractor is appointed, your ideal start date, how you heard about us, and anything you tell us in your message.

When you contact us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp: your contact details and what you share about your project.

During a project: site addresses, floor plans, photographs of your space, design preferences, and the billing details we need to invoice you.

When you visit our website: basic technical information, such as the pages you view and your browser type, collected through cookies (see "Cookies" below).
Why we use it
We use your information to:

reply to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call or design consultation

prepare initial designs, costings, proposals and agreements

design, procure and manage your project, and keep you updated as it runs

invoice you and keep the records that tax and company law require

improve our website.
We will only send you news or marketing if you have agreed to receive it, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We don't sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share your information only when we need to:

Our website and form provider (Wix) stores your enquiry and our website data.

Project partners (architects, engineers, contractors, joiners and suppliers) get only the details they need to work on your project, and only once you have appointed us.

Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, receive what they need to do their work for us.

Authorities receive information only when the law requires us to share it.
Some of our service providers, including Wix, may store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it and how we protect it

Enquiries that don't become projects: we keep these for 12 months, then delete them.

Client projects: we keep records for the length of the project and afterwards for as long as tax and company law require generally five years. We then delete or destroy them.
Only people who need your information can access it, and our accounts are password-protected. If your information is ever compromised, we will let you and the Information Regulator know as soon as reasonably possible.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can:

ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask for a copy

ask us to correct or delete it

object to us using it, or withdraw consent you have given

unsubscribe from any marketing at any time.
